Independent Publishing
& Interactive Art
Role: Author & Lead Illustrator
Tools: Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, Affinity
The objective was to design two distinct coloring books for independent distribution (Amazon KDP). The challenge lay in adapting my detailed illustration style into stark, pristine line art that is accessible and inviting for users to interact with.
Nava-Shakti
Understanding Iconography with Bharatanatyam
The Concept: An interactive, self-published coloring book exploring the nine forms of Goddess Durga (Navadurga) through the lens of classical Bharatanatyam. It bypasses literal depictions of deities with weapons, instead using the dancer’s expressive geometry and hand gestures (mudras) as the vessel for the divine.
The Execution:
Iconographic Translation: Simplified dense mythological details into pristine line art. Replaced physical weapons with precise classical gestures—such as using the Trishula mudra to represent Shailaputri's trident, or the Kapittha mudra for Brahmacharini's rosary.
Educational Layouts: Balanced intricate digital linework with clean typography, incorporating traditional Sanskrit shlokas and specific breakdowns of the mudras utilized in the artwork.
User-Centric Systems: Engineered comprehensive reference tools for the user, including a "Color Glossary" for traditional deity palettes and a fully illustrated Asamyuta Hasta Mudra Reference Guide to ensure cultural accuracy.

Jungle Palette
Adult Coloring Safari
The Concept: A 25-page, self-published adult coloring book designed for the commercial mindfulness and relaxation market. The project translates the chaotic beauty of wildlife and dense botanical environments into highly structured, soothing, and interactive line art.
The Execution:
Environmental Integration: Designed 25 distinct compositions featuring diverse animal wildlife seamlessly woven into lush, overlapping tropical foliage. The layouts prioritize spatial depth and natural framing to create a deeply immersive coloring experience.
Textural Line Architecture: Engineered a deliberate hierarchy of line weights to simulate natural textures without relying on color or shading. As seen in the tiger illustrations, broken and stippled strokes are used to render fur and musculature, contrasting sharply with the bold, continuous outlines of the structural broadleaf plants.
Commercial Formatting: Structured specifically for Amazon KDP distribution. The line density and page layouts were optimized for adult-grade coloring mediums (such as alcohol markers and colored pencils), factoring in commercial print-safe margins and bleed requirements.
