The Overview
Gujarat University is one of India’s most prominent and historic educational institutions. Operating as the lead freelance brand designer in collaboration with a partner agency, the objective was to execute a full-scale institutional rebrand. The challenge lay in modernizing a massive legacy identity—ensuring digital scalability and wayfinding clarity—without stripping away the cultural weight and academic pride inherent to the region.
The Design Approach
The visual strategy was rooted in the concept of "Structured Heritage." Drawing inspiration directly from Gujarat’s cultural vibrancy and architectural history, the new identity system balances strict modern geometry with organic, culturally resonant motifs.
Color & Typography: The palette relies on grounded, earthy tones offset by bold, contemporary accents.










Key Deliverables
Comprehensive Brand Architecture: Development of the official Gujarat University Brand Guidelines, establishing strict rules for typography, color hierarchies, and logo application.
Spatial & Information Design: Engineered user-friendly campus maps and a complete signage and wayfinding system to drastically improve physical navigation across the sprawling campus.
Print & Merchandise: Designed high-tactility physical assets, including lanyards, institutional calendars, university booklets, and stationery.
Digital Ecosystem: Built highly adaptable digital templates for institutional presentations and social media rollout.
