The Bhagavad Gita

The Concept: Commissioned for a regional Gujarati translation of the Bhagavad Gita, this project required a cover illustration that could capture the profound philosophical core of the text while maintaining strong commercial shelf-appeal. The objective was to avoid the overly saturated, generic aesthetic often found in regional spiritual publishing, and instead deliver a highly detailed, symbolic, and premium visual.

The Execution:

  • Symbolic Translation: Rather than a literal depiction of the battlefield narrative, the illustration focuses on the deeper spiritual dialogue. It utilizes a centralized, balanced composition that immediately draws the eye, anchoring the complex philosophical themes into a single, striking visual.

  • Typographic Integration: The artwork was specifically engineered to interact seamlessly with the Gujarati typography. Strategic use of negative space and color contrast ensures that the title treatment remains highly legible without disrupting the intricate background details.

  • Print-Ready Fidelity: Executed with high-fidelity digital brushwork, the piece accounts for strict commercial printing requirements—including precise color calibration for traditional presses, calculated bleed margins, and spine alignment for hardcover formatting.
